OVERLOADING

OVERLOADING YOUR BIKE WILL COST YOU MONEY

This is what we call 'OVERLOAD', lol.

Yes, we know clients call and request for delivery of bulky items to be done via bike that they clearly know will not fit into the bike box just to save them money.

Here are 5 ways, overloading your bike can cost you money:

  1. You can be fined by the regulatory authorities for overloading your bike.

  1. It causes the tyres to overheat and wear quickly which increases the chance of premature, dangerous and expensive failure.

  1. It makes it difficult to maneuver in traffic and loss of vehicle stability which can also lead to accidents that can be fatal.

  1. It increases fuel consumption.

  1. If you have insurance (which is an excellent idea) it might render your insurance claims invalid if your bike is involved in an accident.

I hope I've been able to convince you that 'Overloading your bikes will cost you money and is so not worth it' :)

Next time a client calls you to book a delivery and is unable to determine whether it will fit into a bike box, advise your riders to send a picture if possible for you to determine if it is too big for your bike to carry. You can then decline nicely and offer the client a van service. It might seem like a loss of cash at first if the client refuses to use the van service but it will save you a lot more in the near future.
